FAQ'S

Common Questions

Do I need to take a written test?

No. Adding a multi-engine class rating to an existing certificate does not require a knowledge test. You complete training and a practical test.

How long does it take?

Most pilots finish in 5 days of training, depending on schedule and weather.

What does it cost?

The program starts at $6,500, including 11.5 hours in the plane with an MEI and 7 hours of ground training. Examiner fees are paid separately.

Do I need an instrument rating first?

No. You can add multi-engine to a private or commercial certificate without one. We'll talk through how it affects your checkride.
